Recriação do campesinato

Abstract in English
This dissertation studies the possibility of re-creation of the peasantry in the Aurora settlement, located in the Descalvado municipality, in the São Paulo State. The objective was to investigate how these settlers live and are subordinated to the dictates of capital. In other words, how do they survive, while establishing contradictory and combined relations with the capitalist mode of production, in a sugarcane region marked by the industrialization of agriculture - understood as the advance of capitalism in the field of the Brazil. The universe of the study covered 83 seated families. The methodology used was the case study, and the interviews were informal and carried out over more than three years, between the beginning of 2016 and the middle of 2019. Specifically, the subjects of the research are the members of 48 families of the Aurora settlement. In the context of the Aurora settlement, five distinct groups of settlers were identified, classified according to their material (technical), financial and cultural conditions. However, we find that, regardless of the quality of these conditions, these settlers, in the face of so many adversities and vicissitudes, struggle relentlessly to remain in the newly conquered land, reestablishing the peasantry. Whether they are in a regular situation or not in accordance with the criteria of the INCRA, the great majority is in advanced process of fixation in the earth. Therefore, it is concluded that in spite of the great challenges presented to them, the settlers, subjects of this research, are being restructured to maintain themselves through the agricultural production focused on the family work. Even though slowly, they are expanding their crops and herds, in the incessant search for their reproduction, although specific social class of the capitalist mode of production.
