A pesquisa explica o processo imigratório da Lituânia para o Brasil, as condições da saída e o perfil da primeira leva (1926) e da segunda leva (1947). Analisa também a presença do lituano no Brasil, principalmente no Estado de São Paulo, sua contribuição cultural e econômica, levando em conta os setores produtivos da economia aos quais se destinaram: lavoura do café e indústria paulista. Concluímos que a movimentação desses imigrantes atendeu aos interesses do governo lituano quanto à diminuição do excedente populacional do campo e aos interesses dos fazendeiros produtores de café no Brasil. Destaca-se o Bairro de Vila Zelina na capital paulista, como reduto das tradições e da língua lituana

The research explains the immigration process from the Lithuanians to Brazil, the profile of the people who first the country in 1926 and the next ones in 1947. It also explains the lithuanians staying in Brazil. Mainly in São Paulo, their cultural and economical contribuition considering the productivity issue coffe crops and the São Paulo industry. The Lithuanians, unaware of the fact, governnement by reducing the country's over population through immigration their and also the Brazilian coffee producers interests. Vila Zelina is considered the Lithuanians' colony and the place where their traditions and use of language is most visible
