Abstract in English
The present research is inserted in the area of studies about the city, the metropolis and the urban, specifically about the daily life and racism in the metropolis of São Paulo in the 21st century. The analysis will be taken from the critical and negative point of view, where the philosophical contributions of Mbembe, Marx and Kurz will be fundamental in the apprehension of the basic categories and concepts of the research. Such categories and concepts based on historical and dialectical materialism will have the function of criticizing the simultaneous process of accumulation and crisis of the determinant capital in the conformation of a critical sociability in the daily life of the metropolis. The collapse, understood from the capital-labor contradiction, the simultaneity between accumulation and crisis and the self-destructive and revolutionary tendency of capitalism, determines the society based on the logic of work, marked by the decrease of living work, having seen the development of the productive forces . This contradiction is related to race because of the need for capitalism to develop as a natural causality, so we begin to analyze how race appears in the contradictory course of Brazilian modernization. For that, we walked between classic readings to determine the effectiveness of the race in modernity; we reviewed the literature on the integration of black people into class society and went to the field to capture interviews, reports and observations about the daily lives of the black population and the organized black movement in São Paulo. We deduce, therefore, that the reification and recrudescence of race in the history of capitalism, has the purpose of effecting the critical process of valorization.
