A capoeira possui um papel irretratável na história do Brasil. De prática criminalizada, passou a ser símbolo nacional e reconhecida como patrimônio imaterial da humanidade. Contribuiu tanto para a consolidação de estruturas institucionais e sociais quanto para a estruturação subjetiva de sujeitos e cidadãos negros e praticantes de outras etnias. Encontramos convergências no interior das teorias identitárias e pós-identitárias, em especial, na contribuição da área denominada como estudos sociais afro-latino-americanos e caribenhos. Assim, promovemos um diálogo entre os conceitos de: amefricanidade cunhado por Lélia Gonzalez (1985) e negritude em Aimé Césaire (1987), intelectuais que se apropriam de forma crítica das tradições de pensamento dos países colonizadores para ressignifica-las, em especial, para a construção da identidade na América e no Caribe. Ademais, encontramos supedâneo na Antropologia da Performance com autores como Victor Turner (1987) para a análise e desenvolvimento do trabalho de campo etnográfico realizado com Mestre Pinguim do Grupo de Capoeira Angola e Dança Afro Guerreiros e Guerreiras de Senzala no Núcleo de Artes Afro-brasileiras na Universidade de São Paulo; nos grupos de Capoeira na cidade de Santo Amaro da Purificação, Salvador e Ilha de Itaparica na Bahia e na trajetória da pesquisadora como capoeirista desde os doze anos de idade, apresentando a Capoeira enquanto dança, luta, música, cultura, ritual e patrimônio. O objetivo central desta pesquisa é, pois, circunscrever a Capoeira enquanto uma prática cultural de resistência de matriz africana, desenvolvida no Brasil, a qual apresentou relevante papel para a atual formação do Estado Democrático de Direito com a Constituição de 1988. Em suma, evidencia-se como as narrativas oficiais para gerar coesão social e compor a estrutura institucional - diante da história social inserida no contexto da colonização e escravização de povos africanos, asiáticos e ameríndios por europeus - conduziu-nos para a formação deste grande Atlântico Negro brasileiro.

Capoeira has an irretraceable role in the history of Brazil. As criminalized practice, it became a national symbol and recognized as intangible heritage of humanity. It contributed both to the consolidation of institutional and social structures and to the subjective structuring of subjects and black citizens and practitioners of other ethnicities. We found convergences within identity and post-identity theories, especially in the contribution of the area known as African-Latin American and Caribbean social studies. Thus, we promote a dialogue between the concepts of: amefricanidade coined by Lélia Gonzalez (1985) and negritude in Aimé Césaire (1987), intellectuals who critically appropriate the thought traditions of the colonizing countries towered, in particular, for the construction of identity in America and the Caribbean. In addition, we found a supedental in the Anthropology of Performance with authors such as Victor Turner (1987) for the analysis and development of ethnographic fieldwork carried out with Master Penguin of the Angola Capoeira Group and Afro Warriors Dance of Senzala at the Afro-Brazilian Arts Center at the University of São Paulo; in the Capoeira groups in the city of Santo Amaro da Purificação, Salvador and Ilha de Itaparica in Bahia and in the trajectory of the researcher as a capoeirista since the age of twelve, presenting Capoeira as dance, struggle, music, culture, ritual and heritage. The central objective of this research is, therefore, to circumscribe Capoeira as a cultural practice of resistance of African origin, developed in Brazil, which presented a relevant role for the current formation of the Democratic State of Law with the Constitution of 1988. In short, it is evident how the official narratives to generate social cohesion and compose the institutional structure - given the social history inserted in the context of colonization and enslavement of African, Asian and Amerindian peoples by Europeans - led us to the formation of this great Brazilian Black Atlantic.
