Os Krenak do Rio Doce, povo de língua macro jê descendente de uma série de coletivos que nos séculos XVIII e XIX ficaram conhecidos como "Botocudos", foram alvos de distintas tecnologias de violência por parte de agentes do Estado Brasileiro e de setores do Capital nos últimos dois séculos: foram um dos últimos povos indígenas a serem objetos do mecanismo jurídico colonial da "Guerra Justa" com a chegada da família real no Brasil em 1808, passando por remoções forçadas e pela construção de um presídio indígena em seu território durante o período militar, até o ecocídio cometido contra seu rio sagrado ("Uatu") em pleno século XXI. Os Krenak nos últimos anos se engajaram ativamente na luta por seus direitos à reparação histórica nos espaços de justiça de transição e construiram uma série de alianças e outros espaços onde seu povo poderia "contar sua história" aos não-indígenas. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo descrever o que chamei de uma "contrahistória Krenak". Uma matriz narrativa que conta a história das relações de seu povo com o mundo dos brancos e que subverte uma série de balizas temporais e supostos que sustentam nossa ideia de "História". Para os Krenak, os diferentes eventos de violência perpetrados pelos Kraí (brancos) ao longo dos últimos dois séculos são atualizações de um evento primeiro (a "Guerra Justa" de D.João VI), que funda a relação de seu povo com a sociedade envolvente e que ainda não teve fim. Em um primeiro momento, analisamos as características estruturais dessa narrativa e os possíveis deslocamentos que ela coloca para nossa matriz de significação da experiência no tempo, o que chamamos de "História". Na segunda parte, a partir da interlocução com anciãos e lideranças Krenak da Aldeia Vanuire-SP e da análise de outros materiais produzidos pelos Krenak, buscaremos compreender certos padrões recorrentes nas memórias históricas (e na construção de espaços de transmissão delas) da relação de seu povo com os brancos, e como estes padrões se relacionam com certo fundamento da cosmologia e dos modos de existência Krenak. Por fim, a investigação irá se deter na importância dessa contrahistória nas lutas atuais por reparação, anistia, demarcação e o que suas lideranças chamam de "reconhecimento". E como suas narrativas podem ser potentes no deslocamento de certos pressupostos de nossa ideia de "História", que muitas vezes limitam a construção de políticas de reparação mais eficazes e justas aos povos indígenas no Brasil.

The Krenak of Rio Doce, speakers of a macro jê language that descends from a series of collectives that in the 18th and 19th centuries were known as "Botocudos", were the target of different technologies of violence by agents of the Brazilian State and sectors of Capital in the last two centuries: they were one of the last indigenous peoples to be the object of the colonial legal mechanism of the "Just War" with the arrival of the royal family in Brazil in 1808, going through forced evictions and the construction of an indigenous prison in their territory during the period military, until the ecocide committed against its sacred river ("Uatu") in the beginning of the 21st century. The Krenak in recent years have actively engaged in the fight for their rights to historical reparation in transitional justice spaces and have built a series of alliances and other spaces where their people could "tell their own history" to non-indigenous people. This research aimed to describe what I called a "Krenak counterhistory". A narrative matrix that is a history of the relationship of their people with the Whites, which subverts a series of temporal and supposed beacons that support our idea of "History". For the Krenak, the different events of violence perpetrated by the Kraí (whites) over the past two centuries are updates of a primordial event (the "Just War" of D. João VI), which founds the relationship of their people with our society and that still hasn´t ended. At first, we analyze the structural characteristics of this narrative and the possible shifts that it places in our narrative matrix of time, what we call "History". In the second part, based on the interlocution with Krenak elders and leaders from Aldeia Vanuire-SP and the analysis of other materials produced by the Krenak, we will seek to understand certain recurring patterns in the historical memories (and in the construction of spaces for their transmission) of their relationship with the Whites, and how these patterns relate to a certain features of Krenak cosmology and modes of existence. Finally, the investigation will focus on the importance of this counter-history in the current struggles for reparation, amnesty, demarcation and what its leaders call "recognition". And how their narratives can be powerful in displacing certain assumptions of our idea of "History", which often limit the construction of more effective and fair reparation policies for indigenous peoples in Brazil.
