Keywords in Portuguese
Antropologia da dança
Arte- vida
Dança e pensamento
Teoria antropológica

Abstract in English
Seeking a history of dance in anthropology and an anthropology in the history of dance, I revisit Descartes and the cultural evolutionism of 19th century to undo some of the deep- seated prejudices that accompany us until today, such as the one that makes sign languages (and dance) inferior (and previous) communicational modes in relation to spoken language. With that, I also try to bring out the "choreographic effects" of the alliance between dance and writing, an alliance that marks the modern notions of body, person and creativity. Proposing concepts such as sentience and commoving, I seek to demarcate, from the perspective of the contemporary dances, a persistent indomestication of thought, which remains "wild". With that, I suggest the hypothesis that modern "thinking" is just a way of doing, and that all doing is a way of thinking. For this, I bring, among other ethnographic excerpts, the dance lessons of the master Key Sawao, her aquatic enunciations and her humanization of space and, in the last part of the thesis, I present the turning point that culminates in my arrival at the strongholds of Cia Sansacroma and its Dance of Indignation.
