A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo uma investigação antropológica sobre a produção do grupo artístico e teatral contemporâneo Capulanas Cia de Arte Negra. Como parte do processo de pesquisa foi analisada a produção e recep ção das peças onde se pode apreender os discursos e narrativas de identidades de mulheres negras. O contexto de emergência do trabalho é a periferia sul da cidade de São Paulo, no período compreendido entre os anos de 2007 e 2021. Tratei de estudar, por meio de uma pesquisa etnográfica e análise documental, em que medida artistas e uma parcela do público, aqui, especificamente as mulheres negras, reconfiguram e incorporam ou não seus pertencimentos e repertórios estéticos/culturais a partir das práticas performáticas exibidas nas montagens teatrais do grupo. A hipótese confirmada é que uma produção artística e política como a da Capulanas veiculadas em uma região periférica, na qual se focalizam subjetividades, agências e vidas urbanas, tem sido capaz de favorecer a atribuição de novos significados para as experiências constituídas por mulheres negras. Nesse contexto foi o público e sua recepção ativa que me apontaram caminhos para análise e compreensão das formas pelas quais os marcadores sociais das diferenças - raça, gênero e classe - operacionalizam narrativas e construções artísticas, ações políticas e sociais assim como significativas mudanças culturais empreendidas por mulheres negras e periféricas da cidade de São Paulo.

The thesis offers an anthropological inquiry about Capulanas Cia de Arte Negra [Capualanas black arts collective], a contemporary artistic and theatrical group based in São Paulo, Brazil. The research process included the analysis on the production and function of the theatrical work in which the discourse and identity narrative of black women are learnt. The work of Capulanas emerge from peripheries of southern São Paulo, and the group in activity since 2007. That said, the study was conducted via an ethnographic investigation and a document analysis that measured the reactions of the artists and a portion of the audience, specifically, the black women. These black women in the audience rearrange and may incorporate their repertoire and sense of belonging as well as the aesthetic/ cultural repertoire from the performance by the production. The hypothesis confirmed is that an artistic and political production allowed to incorporate new meanings to the experience gathered by black women. That is the case of Capulanas and its attempt to work in Capulanas in the margins of the city, considering it asthe focus of subjectivity, agency and urban lives. In this context, it was the audience and its active welcoming that have shown me the way to the analysis and comprehension of the ways the social markers of difference as race, gender and class enact narratives and artistic constructions, political and social actions as well as the significant cultural changes implemented by black women living in the peripheries of São Paulo.
