Abstract in English
According to Augustine, enlightenment is a unilateral act from God upon creatures. The enlightening agent is thought of from the definition of God as Trinity-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-and the action of each of these Persons may correspond to a particular sense of enlightenment. Divine Light gives origin to creatures and establishes in them a trine structure-namely, being, shape, and weight-akin to Trinity itself. This study examines how enlightenment bears upon creatures, and particularly upon man
