O presente trabalho tem como objetivo a exposição rigorosa da formulação de uma nova concepção teórica de sujeito que a filosofia de Alain Badiou colocou ao alcance de uma consideração mais detida do pensamento a partir da data de 1982, com a publicação daquela que pode ser enxergada como a sua primeira obra filosófica verdadeiramente original, a saber, o livro que atende pelo nome de Théorie du sujet. A abordagem escolhida para alcançar esse objetivo foi a de proceder a um minucioso exame do percurso histórico de elaboração dessa nova concepção teórica de sujeito: se, num primeiro momento, quando se estabelece uma inegável afinidade do jovem filósofo para com a tradição da chamada epistemologia histórica francesa e para com o estruturalismo - tendo essa dupla afinidade se concretizado pela adesão de Badiou, na década de 1960, ao programa teórico de Louis Althusser de estimar o verdadeiro peso científico do materialismo histórico -, se nesse primeiro momento o jovem Badiou vem a recusar categoricamente a noção filosófica de sujeito, deveremos, pois, explicar não só como ele se dispõe a reabilitá-la logo em seguida, mas também como ela se torna um operador teórico absolutamente fundamental em sua filosofia. Para tanto, fez-se inevitável restabelecer com o máximo apuro a influência que as ideias de Jacques Lacan exerceram sobre o percurso trilhado por Badiou nessa transição: aplicamo-nos, então, a compreender o que existe de singular no ensino do psicanalista francês que justifique a preeminência que as suas ideias adquiriram para a formulação de uma nova filosofia da parte de Badiou, tendo em consideração sobretudo o lugar de destaque que Lacan confere à noção de sujeito, a fornecer desse modo um contraste muito significativo com o lugar reduzido ou inexistente que lhe reservava a intelectualidade francesa das décadas de 1960 e 1970. Será possível entender assim não só como foi necessário a Badiou aproximar-se das ideias de Lacan para aprimorar as suas próprias, mas também como ele pôde ir além do psicanalista na apreciação filosófica de um novo sujeito.

The present work aims at the rigorous exposition of the formulation of a new theoretical conception of the subject that the philosophy of Alain Badiou made available to a more detailed consideration of thought from 1982 onwards, with the publication of what can be seen as his first truly original philosophical work, namely the book that goes by the name of Théorie du sujet. The approach chosen to achieve this objective was to carry out a thorough examination of the historical course of elaboration of this new theoretical concept of the subject: if, at first, when is established an undeniable affinity of the young philosopher with the tradition of the so-called french historical epistemology and also with structuralism - this dual affinity being materialized by Badiou's adhesion, in the 1960s, to Louis Althusser's theoretical program of estimating the true scientific weight of historical materialism - if, at this first moment, the young Badiou refuses categorically the philosophical notion of the subject, we must therefore explain not only how he sets out to rehabilitate it immediately afterwards, but also how it becomes an absolutely fundamental theoretical operator in his philosophy. Therefore, it was inevitable to re-establish with the utmost care the influence that the ideas of Jacques Lacan exerted on the path followed by Badiou in this transition: we apply ourselves, then, to understand what is unique in the teaching of the French psychoanalyst that justifies the pre-eminence that his ideas acquired for the formulation of a new philosophy on the part of Badiou, considering above all the prominent place that Lacan gives to the notion of subject, thus providing a very significant contrast with the reduced or non-existent place that the French intelligentsia of the 1960s and 1970s reserved for it. In this way, it will be possible to understand not only how it was necessary for Badiou to approach Lacan's ideas in order to improve his own, but also how he was able to go beyond the psychoanalyst in the philosophical appreciation of a new subject.
