Neste trabalho procura-se analisar na obra de karl popper o tema do realismo, isto e, a concepcao segundo a qual a ciencia e a filosofia falam de um mundo real. Para isso, procurou-se acompanhar de modo critico os argumentos de popper, em que ele justifica sua posicao realista e tenta refutar teses concorrentes como o instrumentalismo e o convencionalismo. Analisa-se tambem o papel da concepcao realista de Popper no conjunto do seu pensamento e a necessidade dele ter adotado com inegavel conviccao uma posicao realista

In this work, an analysis of the theme of realism in Karl Popper's work is attempted. Realism is there understood as the conception according to which science and philosophy speak about a real world" To this end, we try to critically follow Popper's arguments, where he justifies his realist position and attempts a confutation of alternative theses such as instrumentalism and conventionalism. The role of the realist conception, in the context of his thinking, as well as his need to adopt such a position
