O objetivo desta dissertação é apresentar as concepções filosóficas de Martin Heidegger e JeanPaul Sartre a respeito do amor. Ambos os pensadores legaram valiosos ensinamentos no que concerte ao tema, muito embora nenhum deles tenha escrito um grande texto de sistematização sobre o amor. Assim, visa-se, ao mesmo tempo, sistematizar os pensamentos de Heidegger e Sartre no que tange ao amor e buscar, a partir deles, entender esse fenômeno. Como ambos partem de uma consideração semelhante a respeito do sentido de ser humano, o qual é pensado existencialmente como livre e, portanto, desprovido de natureza e essência, a pesquisa busca evidenciar como o amor dialoga com a liberdade própria à existência em cada um dos pensadores. Heidegger, nesse sentido, apresenta um pensamento mais coeso ao longo de seus textos, não obstante mais fragmentário; Sartre, por seu lado, escreveu textos que levam em conta variados aspectos do amor, de modo que ora se aproxima, ora se distancia do alemão. No começo de suas obras, os filósofos partem da concepção husserliana de intencionalidade para a caracterização do amor, o que se mostra como um solo comum. Heidegger logo se distancia do mestre, e Sartre se mantém fiel. Para ambos, o amor, sendo uma intencionalidade própria a uma consciência livre, deve se haver com a angústia, afetividade fundamental para nossos pensadores, que revela a completa falta de atributos categoriais da consciência. Heidegger é claro em afirmar que o amor abre espaço à angústia e com ela convive, enquanto Sartre pondera que o é uma forma de suportar e fugir dessa afetividade reveladora da indeterminação ontológica

This dissertation aims to present the philosophical conceptions of Martin Heidegger and Jean-Paul Sartre concerning love. Both have bequeathed precious lessons about the theme, although neither has written a significant systematization text about love. Therefore, the research aims to systematize Heideggers and Sartres thoughts regarding love and comprehend this phenomenon from their perspectives. As both stem from a similar consideration regarding what it means to be human, which is existentially thought of as free and, therefore, devoid of nature and essence, the research means to clarify how love dialogs with the constitutive existential freedom in each thinker. Heidegger, for that matter, presents a more cohesive thought through his texts, albeit more fragmentary; Sartre, on the other hand, wrote texts that consider multiple aspects of love so that he sometimes approaches, sometimes stands apart from the German. At the beginning of their works, both philosophers stem from the Husserlian perspective of intentionality to characterize love, which must be considered a common background. Heidegger soon stands apart from the master, but Sartre remains loyal to him. For both, as love is an intentionality of free consciousness, it must be related to angst, a fundamental humor for both of our thinkers that reveals the complete absence of categorical attributes of consciousness. Heidegger is evident when he claims that love opens space to angst and lives together with it, while Sartre considers that love is a way of bearing and running from this reveling humor of the ontological indetermination
