A tese busca reconsiderar o conceito de "pós-modernidade" celebremente formulado por Fredric Jameson e absorvido pelas teorias críticas da cultural no contexto brasileiro e internacional. Como "lógica cultural do capitalismo tardio", a pós-modernidade foi apreendida comumente como etapa final da reificação capitalista, destituição das matérias-primas históricas da modernidade e consolidação de uma temporalidade tida por inerte e estéril. Uma consideração dialética do projeto intelectual de Jameson e recuperação completa de sua reflexão sobre as origens e o desenvolvimento da reificação demonstra o equívoco da referida interpretação unilateral, porque sempre se tratou de mapear a história da modernização e sublinhar as contradições inescapáveis do processo. O percurso intelectual de Jameson pode ser compreendido como a busca por desenvolver algo como a dialética da ideologia e da utopia na cultura capitalista - tanto em seus níveis formais quanto sócio-históricos. No contexto de nossa proposta, os achados do autor e o eclipse da historicidade e a espacialidade que ele teoriza só podem ser compreendidos dentro da própria lógica antagônica do modo de produção capitalista e resultam em reviravoltas inesperadas. O conjunto da obra de nosso autor se revela uma reflexão sobre as contradições da pós-modernidade, os mecanismos de expressão utópica mesmo após o esgotamento da revolução cultural burguesa e as prefigurações da emancipação que teimam em emergir após "o fim da história".

The thesis seeks to reconsider the concept of "postmodernity" famously formulated by Fredric Jameson and absorbed by critical theories of culture in the Brazilian and international context. As the "cultural logic of late capitalism", postmodernity was commonly understood as the final stage of capitalist reification, the removal of the historical raw materials of modernity and the consolidation of a temporality considered inert and sterile. A dialectical consideration of Jameson's intellectual project and a complete recovery of his reflection on the origins and development of reification demonstrates the mistake of the aforementioned unilateral interpretation, because it has always been about mapping the history of modernization and underlining the inescapable contradictions of the process. Jameson's intellectual project can be understood as the assignmentquest to develop something like the dialectic of ideology and utopia in capitalist culture - both at its formal and socio-historical levels. In the context of our proposal, the author's findings and the eclipse of historicity and the spatiality that he theorizes can only be understood within the antagonistic logic of the capitalist mode of production and result in unexpected twists. The whole of our author's work reveals a reflection on the contradictions of postmodernity, the mechanisms of utopian expression even after the exhaustion of the bourgeois cultural revolution and the prefigurations of emancipation that insist on emerging after "the end of history".
