O estudo investiga o uso dos recursos e espaços da Universidade de São Paulo por um grupo de estudantes com desvantagens econômicas e educacionais. A partir de uma interpretação dos dados empíricos coligidos, reflete-se sobre o que esses alunos, efetivamente, aproveitam da estrutura propiciada pela universidade. Os alvos da investigação compreendem a verificação de como ocorreu o processo de socialização no ambiente familiar; a reconstrução da trajetória de ingresso e o trânsito no ambiente universitário mediante a apreensão do cotidiano, da adaptação à linguagem acadêmica, da realização das tarefas escolares, além da relação com colegas e professores. A pesquisa utilizou a metodologia qualitativa, operacionalizada em duas fases: grupos focais e entrevistas semi-estruturadas. Mediante a discussão dos resultados, espera-se contribuir na reflexão sobre inclusão social no ensino superior ao integrar à análise do acesso à universidade, uma discussão a respeito da efetiva permanência, onde o foco passa a ser um estudo mais pormenorizado das diferenças na qualidade da educação recebida pelos diversos segmentos sociais presentes na universidade pública

This study investigates the use of resources and space at São Paulo University by a group of students under economic and educational disadvantages. Through the interpretation of field data, we reflect on what these students effectively enjoy and use from the structure offered by the university. The aims of investigation focus on how related processes happened: the process of family socialization, the reconstruction of the story of getting into university and the transit in the university life through the learning of daily activities, having to adapt to the academic language, fulfilling tasks, and the relations with classmates and professors. The research was carried on a qualitative methodology, organized into two blocks: focused groups and semi-structured interviews. We hope to contribute for the current debates around the topic of social inclusion in Higher education when we add to the analysis of the university access, a discussion on effective permanence, where the focus tums to be a more detailed study on the differences about the quality of the education received by different social classes which are present in the State University
