A pesquisa realiza um estudo sociológico sobre o cinema brasileiro contemporâneo, especialmente a cinematografia do diretor paranaense Sérgio Luiz Bianchi (1945-) que esteve presente no panorama cinematográfico nacional desde meados da década de 1970. A sociologia do cinema tem como objetivo localizar, em determinadas obras cinematográficas, a compreensão dos fenômenos sociais pela análise de documentários ou filmes ficcionais. Nesse sentido, visou-se identificar a partir do exame sobre as imagens dos filmes, os modos pelos quais estes são construídos como um meio interpretação da sociedade se baseando em uma seleção de assuntos específicos determinados pelos valores e pontos de vista do cineasta. Considerando que as produções fílmicas podem ser entendidas como construções narrativas apoiadas no imaginário social e nos discursos dos agentes na sociedade. A pesquisa integrou abordagens metodológicas da sociologia e da teoria cinematográfica ambicionando perceber, na estrutura dos filmes, seus aspectos ideológicos e discursos. A metodologia utilizada consiste na leitura das imagens à luz da crítica cinematográfica e sociológica com o objetivo de compreender a montagem das produções fílmicas, o uso das cores que são compostas nas imagens, os enquadramentos e seus significados, assim como identificar os conceitos pelos quais as obras possam ser discutidas. O resultado obtido pelo exame propiciou compreender um quadro de pontos discursivos semelhantes nas produções cinematográficas quando examinadas em conjunto. Observou-se uma persistência temática que varia entre a sexualidade, discursos políticos, o apontamento de contradições socioeconômicas e as discussões acerca da sociedade brasileira nos períodos os quais os filmes foram realizados, a saber de 1970 a 2013.

The research is a sociological study of contemporary Brazilian cinema, especially the cinematography of director Sergio Luiz Bianchi (1945-) who has been present in the national cinematic panorama since 1970's. The sociology of cinema aims to find in determined movies, the understanding of social phenomena through the analysis of documentaries or fictional films. In this sense, the study aimed to identify from the exam of the images of the films, the ways in which they are constructed as a means of interpretation of society based on a selection of specific subjects determined by the values and points of view of the filmmaker. Considering that film productions can be understood as narrative constructions supported by the social imaginary of agents in society. The research integrated methodological approaches of sociology and film theory aiming to understand, in the structure of films, their ideological aspects and discourses. The methodology used consists of reading the images in the light of cinematic and sociological criticism in order to understand the montage of film productions, the use of the colors, the frames and their meanings, as well as to identify the concepts by which movies can be discussed. The result obtained by the examination allowed to understand a perspective of similar discursive points in the cinematographic productions when examined together. There was a thematic persistence that varies between sexuality, political speeches, socioeconomic contradictions and the discussions about Brazilian society in the periods during which the films were made, namely from 1970 to 2013.
