Esta tese de doutorado visa em primeiro lugar debater e aprofundar uma reflexão sobre as condições sociais de emergência de um espaço literário transnacional de língua portuguesa. Como se deu sua constituição? Como se deram suas disputas internas? Quem foram seus principais atores? Para responder a essas questões tomaremos como objeto as trajetórias sociais e profissionais de alguns escritores e escritoras de língua portuguesa, atuantes no espaço. Os produtores literários são agentes centrais para a compreensão história social desse espaço, já que são artífices centrais do manejo e transformação da linguagem. Como se dão seus processos de consagração e legitimação? Como circulam pelo espaço? Quais são as hierarquias de classificação e os embates entre eles e elas? A sociologia da literatura até agora tem tratado, majoritariamente, de objetos e temas restritos às fronteiras e territórios nacionais, pouco se questionando sobre a instabilidade desses espaços, que são antes realidades imaginadas e sempre em mutação, do que constructos estáveis e inabaláveis.

This thesis aims first to discuss and deepen a reflection on the social conditions of emergence of a Portuguese-speaking transnational literary space. How did your constitution come about? What are your internal disputes? What are your main actors? To answer these questions, we will take as object the social and professional trajectories of some writers of Portuguese speaking countries from this space. The literary producers are central actors for the understanding of the socio history of this space, since they are central architects of the manufacturing and transformation of the language. How does it work the processes of consecration and legitimation? How do they circulate through space? What are the ranking hierarchies and the clashes between them? The sociology of literature has so far dealt with its objects and themes always conforming to national borders and territories, little questioning about the instability of these concepts and terms, which are more imagined and ever-changing realities than stable and unshakable constructs.
