Abstract in English
This master's thesis develops parliamentary activity and the internet, questioning how new media and social networks add value to parliamentary work and political representation. Through a literature review, the relevance of the topic is explored, along with its connections to political science literature and the relationship between representation and social networks. To achieve this, theoretical models are investigated to identify possible changes in parliamentary representation and the consequences found in empirical research, including a discussion on political communication and Brazilian institutions
