O objetivo deste trabalho é discutir a questão inflacionária brasileira no contexto da democratização política. Nesse sentido, o interesse maior do trabalho foi o de buscar as causas da inflação crescente em sua interação com a política, especialmente na crise do Estado brasileiro. Assim, o trabalho se concentra na primeira metade da década de 80, até o lançamento do Plano Cruzado em 1986. O trabalho está organizado do seguinte modo: no primeiro capítulo a discussão das relações entre inflação e política. No segundo capítulo, o resgate do debate econômico sobre a inflação e as propostas de política antiinflacionária. No terceiro capítulo o Cruzado foi objeto de uma análise de seus objetivos e o momento político e econômico em que foi lançado. E no quarto capítulo, uma análise do legado do Cruzado na política econômica e na política brasileira

The aim of this mork is to discuss the brazilian inflationary question in the context of political democratization. In this respect, the gratest interest of work was to get the causes of the growing inflation in its interaction with the politics, especially in the brazilian State crisis. Thus, the work concetrates in the first half of the 80's, until the beginning of Cruzado Plan in 1986. The work is organized in the following way: in the first chapter, the rescue of the economic debate about inflation and the purposes of the anti-inflationary politic. In the third chapter the Cruzado was na object of analyses of their aim and the political and economical moment in which it was begun. And in the fourth chapter, an analyses of the legacy of Cruzado in the economical and brazilian politics
