Teoria do reconhecimento

Abstract in English
This research aims to analyze, from the perspective of Nancy Fraser's Critical Theory, the dimensions of parity of participation as a category of normative character that allows us to question if the theory offers the possibility of accounting for emancipation and diagnosig the forms of domination suffered by new social movements in contemporary democracies. In this regard, Fraser strongly criticizes the Theory of Recognition, which tends to be the central category for diagnosis of contemporary social problems. The main questions refer to the fact that the grammar of recognition has become the hegemonic normative form of current political struggles and to the effects of this grammar on the dynamics of social conflicts, considering that such a theory can displace most of the demands of social movements and those of the critical theory on material issues, as well as being a model that distances itself from the politicization of social struggles, which are diverse and complex. It is in this context that this work seeks to analyze the deep study of Fraser by bringing a critical attitude of emancipatory character, starting from parity of participation to deal with the problems and limitations in which the Theory of Recognition, as a central project, can lead to with regard to a possible emancipation.
