Abstract in English
This dissertation examines the effects of party leadership over the legislator's voting behavior, and the party cohesion observed for the Brazilian House of Representatives [Câmara dos Deputados].Analyzing the available references in party leadership, political parties in government, legislative informational theories and the constitutional and legal prerogatives established in Brazil concerning party leadership, we reinterpret the empirical results of party cohesion found by Figueiredo e Limongi (1999) as an organizational need in one incomplete information environment
