Abstract in English
The field of quantum thermodynamics emerged intending to identify how concepts and principles of classical thermodynamics, applied to macroscopic systems, can be generalized for application to quantum systems. From this perspective, it is common to imagine the open quantum system as a machine, whose operation takes place in the presence of an environment that is not always in a state of thermal equilibrium. Another distinct aspect of the usual thermodynamics is the fact that this environment has to be treated as a quantum system in several situations of current interest. In this work we study a quantum universe composed of a two-level system (which takes the place of the open quantum system) interacting with a single photon pulse (which plays the role of the environment of our system of interest). Following the prescription adopted in the literature to interpret the energetic exchanges in the forms of heat and work, we verified that the interaction between the parts of our quantum universe allows the observation of these two forms. In this dissertation, we seek to verify how the conditions imposed on the system interfere with the work, that is, how we can change the amount and temporal rate with which the work will be performed. This verification was done by looking at the behavior of power by fixing the value of work and changing the set of system parameters on which it depended. In this way, we were able to relate some changes in power behavior due to changes in system parameters.
