Abstract in English
The implementation of Quality Management Systems in laboratories is necessary due to market demands and different regulatory agencies. One of the most used Quality Management Systems by different laboratories is based on the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. The objective of this work was the development of a proficiency test (PT) for two materials (vodka and unsweetened cachaça) together with the development of certified reference materials (CRM) for these. These drinks were chosen because vodka is a constant target of counterfeits and cachaça is a genuinely Brazilian product, since monitoring the quality of these drinks presents commercial, public health and national identity interests, in addition to meeting a demand from the MAPA (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply). As required by ISO/IEC 17025, the use of CRM is an important tool in the pursuit of metrological traceability. For the production of the materials for this work, the methodologies established in ISO Guide 35:2020 were followed, and from studies of homogeneity, stability (long and short term), characterization by two techniques (GC-FID and GC-MS) and estimation of the uncertainties associated with each step and expanded combined uncertainty, the following certified materials were produced: for the vodka matrix we have the analytes ethyl acetate (3.47 ± 0.75 mg/100 ml of vodka), methanol (33.05 ± 7.42 mg/100 ml of vodka) and 2-methyl-1-propanol (0.67 ± 0.27 mg/100 ml of vodka ethanol) and for the cachaça matrix we have methanol (37.00 ± 9.14 mg/100 ml of cachaça), propanol (33.39 ± 8.05 mg/100 ml of cachaça), 2-methyl-1-propanol (17.01 ± 1.94 mg/100 ml of cachaça) and 2-methyl-1-butanol (63.98 ± 18.84 mg/100 ml of cachaça). Furfural is presented with an indicative value of (1.24 ± 0.13 mg/100 ml of cachaça) for the cachaça matrix and can be used for internal control of laboratories. Along with the development of these materials, a round of the Proficiency Test (PT) of Organic Congeners in Distilled and Rectified Drinks was elaborated and launched, where they were evaluated with specific statistics for a small number of participants.
