Abstract in Portuguese
O treinamento motivacional foi baseado no curso The Science of Well-Being da Universidade de Yale, no livro The How of Happiness e no livro Motivation and Action.

Abstract in English
Measurement the effect of research teams motivational training on laboratory animals welfare is essential to study the impact of the human factor on experimental results. To test this hypothesis, fourteen volunteers underwent motivational training and the impact of this training on animal welfare was evaluated in 174 Swiss mice, primiparous pregnant females divided between the control group (N = 90), observed before the motivational training, and treated group (N = 84), observed right after training. The welfare of the animals was assessed by the ability to nest building by scoring each nest from 0 to 5, time to integrate into nest test (TINT); maternal behavior, which considers the rate of maternal care for nursing, licking / grooming the puppies and staying with the puppies; pup retrieval test; postnatal performance data, which considers the number of pups alive 24 hours after birth, cannibalism occurance and litter weight at the end of the experiment. The motivational level of each volunteer was assessed through the Utrecht Scale, PERMA Profiler and The Authentic Happiness Inventory. Motivational training was based on Yale Universitys course The Science of Well-Being, the book The How of Happiness and the book Motivation and Action. The results presented indicate that the methods used to assess mices welfare may have been influenced by environmental differences in each research center, since there was no reproducibility of the results. The motivational training effect was dependent on the research center evaluated for the nest score and maternal behavior testes. On the other hand, for the time-to-integrate-to-nest-test, not enough evidence was identified to support a possible effect of the treatment on the test, but there is evidence to confirm that the incidence of higher scores was influenced by the research center. For the questionnaires used in this study, they showed to be interesting to evaluate the personnel well-being. An increase in responses related to improvement in happiness, health, vigor, and dedication of volunteers was observed.
