A riqueza arqueológica do estado de Minas Gerais é inegável, vários sítios são considerados ícones nacionais pelos vestígios que abrigam e protegem. Locais com restos humanos fazem parte dessa enorme coleção, mas quantos são e onde estão? A partir de levantamento bibliográfico e pesquisa em arquivo, foi montado um panorama da arqueologia funerária no estado de Minas Gerais. Aqui, buscamos reunir e consolidar informações sobre todos os sítios arqueológicos e ocorrências com restos de esqueletos humanos no estado, bem como informações sobre a destinação e guarda desses remanescentes e os trabalhos científicos produzidos sobre eles. Esses dados nos mostraram o estado da arte da arqueologia funerária em Minas Gerais e a intensidade com que os esqueletos foram ou não estudados.

The archaeological richness of the state of Minas Gerais is undeniable, several sites are considered national icons due to the vestiges they shelter and protect. Sites with human remains are part of this huge collection, but how many are they and where are they? From a bibliographical survey and research in archives, an overview of the funerary archeology in the state of Minas Gerais was assembled. Here, we try to gather and consolidate information about all the archaeological sites and occurrences with human skeletal remains in the state, as well as information about their destination and custody of these remnants and the scientific work produced about them. These data showed us the state of the art of funerary archeology in Minas Gerais and the intensity with which skeletons have or have not been studied.
