Esta pesquisa teve objetivos com diferentes temáticas, com arcabouços teóricos e metodológicos próprios. Isso gerou mais de um tipo de resultado que, no entanto, conversam entre si. Dentre os objetivos do trabalho estão um levantamento bibliográfico sobre os sítios arqueológicos do alto e médio Vale do Rio Ribeira de Iguape na porção do Estado de São Paulo, focando na localização e características dos diferentes tipos de sítio e em locais com potencial de estudo. Uma Modelagem Preditiva Arqueológica (MPA) em três municípios do alto Vale (Apiaí, Iporanga e Itaóca), com um tutorial para auxiliar pesquisas voltadas em modelagens preditivas no ArcGis. A escavação do sítio arqueológico Paredão Consteca localizado em Iporanga (SP). As análises dos registros arqueológicos coletados durante a escavação que contam com artefatos líticos e cerâmicos, este da Tradição Itararé Taquara. Uma apresentação sobre as diferentes indústrias líticas encontradas no sítio, salientando a indústria em calcário que não é um material comum nas indústrias líticas e, por último, uma discussão sob a cerâmica Itararé Taquara. Os resultados mostram-se pertinentes, pois proceder com dados sobre a ocupação desta região pode ajudar na discussão a respeito do Vale do Ribeira como possível local de fronteira entre as regiões sudeste e sul do Brasil, além de esclarecer diversas questões sobre o contato entre o interior e a costa em tempos pretéritos.

This research had objectives with different themes, with their own theoretical and methodological frameworks. This has generated more than one type of result that, however, speak to each other. Among the objectives of the work are a bibliographic survey on the archaeological sites of the upper and middle Vale do Rio Ribeira de Iguape in the portion of the State of São Paulo, focusing on the location and characteristics of the different types of site and in places with potential for study. An Archaeological Predictive Modeling (MPA) in three municipalities in the upper Vale (Apiaí, Iporanga and Itaóca), with a tutorial to assist research focused on archaeological predictive modeling in ArcGis. The excavation of the Paredão Consteca archaeological site located in Iporanga (SP). The analysis of the archaeological records collected during the excavation that have lithic and ceramic artifacts, this one from the Itararé Taquara Tradition. A presentation on the different lithic industries found at the site, presenting the limestone industry which is not a common material in lithic industries and, finally, a discussion on the Itararé Taquara ceramics. The results are relevant, therefore proceeding with data on the occupation of this region can help in the discussion about the Vale do Ribeira as a possible border place between the southeastern and southern regions of Brazil, in addition to clarifying several questions about the contact between the inland and the coast in past times.
