Abstract in Portuguese
III-I a.C.).

Abstract in English
This master's thesis aims to discuss the probable functions and meanings of Greek terracotta statuettes, the so-called "Tanagra figurines", as well as their interactions with the context in which they were manufactured, used and widespread, the Greek world in the Hellenistic period (3rd-1st century BC). Tanagra-style statuettes were made in Greece mainly between the end of the fourth century and the middle of the second century BC, but spread throughout the Greek world at that time; fitting in with the Hellenistic periodization, we aim to understand the role that general changes in society played in the formation and development of the Tanagra style, as well as the impact of the statuettes in Greek art, culture and society
