Abstract in English
Introduction: The Primeiros Laços Program is an intervention in a pilot phase of Home Visits based on successful international experiences. Unpublished in Brazil, it is part of a randomized clinical trial aiming to know its effects on child development. Composed of Visiting Nurses (VEs), it is aimed at socially vulnerable adolescents, accompanying them from pregnancy to the child's first two years. Successful results are linked to the performance of EVs, consequently to their qualifications. General Objective: To analyze whether the training offered by the Program to the VEs was able to support the development of skills necessary for the practice. Method: The Content Analysis technique was used for data collected in two stages. In August/2020, the instrument Construction of the Primeiros Laços Training Teaching Planning was applied to the schedule of activities and documents used in the training, allowing to describe and examine its relevance in relation to the theoretical pillars and thematic axes of the Program. In September and October/2020 there was the second stage corresponding to the unstructured interviews with the VEs remotely, applying the instrument Assessment of Primeiros Laços Training. Results: The 80-hour training was divided into theoretical (75%) and practical (25%) activities, scoring Themes such as Parenting, Environmental Safety, Life Course, Social and Family Support Network, Health Care and Clinical Research /Primeiros Laços Program; five of these correspondents to the basis of the Program. The duration, the Pedagogical Strategies and Didactic Resources were understood by the VEs as satisfactory, highlighting the Reading Strategy and the Virtual Library Resource as fundamental. They perceived the Clinical Supervision Meetings and the Supervisor Nurse as strengthening points in the teaching-learning process of competences, in addition to pointing out the need for balance in the approach to theories and thematic axes, as well as more active pedagogical strategies and practical activities. According to Perrenoud, they demonstrated mastery of the conceptual, attitudinal and procedural components of the skills worked on in the training, mentioning the Debut as a Visiting Nurse and the Complexity of the Function, and even the evaluation of it as Great (62.5%) or Good (37 .5%) to justify its importance. Conclusion: VEs perceived training as essential to achieving competent performance.
