Tendo como objeto as relações sociais, por meio dos discursos de gênero relacionados à inauguração da seção feminina da Escola Profissional de Enfermeiros e Enfermeiras (EPEE), na reafirmação de poder dos papeis sociais, o presente estudo toma como objetivos: descrever as circunstâncias empreendidas para o produto em seção feminina da Escola Profissional de Enfermeiros e Enfermeiras, ou seja, a Escola Profissional de Enfermeiras Alfredo Pinto, exclusiva para mulheres; analisar as relações sociais de gênero, por meio das fontes relacionadas à Escola Profissional de Enfermeiras Alfredo Pinto, na sistemática educacional da Enfermagem; e discutir as relações sociais de gênero como estratégia para a instalação de um modelo profissional de assistência em prol do desenvolvimento da enfermagem brasileira. A delimitação temporal do estudo abrange o período 1920 a 1921, tendo em vista o intervalo em que ocorreu o processo de formação da primeira turma da seção feminina da EPEE, à época denominada Escola Profissional de Enfermeiras Alfredo Pinto (EPEAP), atual Escola de Enfermagem Alfredo Pinto, da Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (EEAP-UNIRIO). Este fato histórico se deu na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, capital do país, no início do período republicano, mais especificamente na Colônia de Alienadas do Engenho de Dentro. Foram utilizadas para esta pesquisa a mais diversa gama de fontes históricas, como os Relatórios Ministeriais, periódicos, livro de atas das instituições relacionadas, materiais didáticos utilizados na EPEAP, documentos das alunas e Enfermeiras matriculadas para o curso de 1921 além dos Anais da Colônia de Alienadas do Engenho de Dentro. A análise desse material foi realizada a luz dos postulados de Joan Scott, evidenciando as questões relacionadas ao Gênero - Relações Sociais de Sexo. O desdobramento da Escola Profissional de Enfermeiras e Enfermeiros, inaugurada em 1890, em duas seções, sendo uma delas exclusivamente feminina determinou uma trajetória educacional, que contribuiu diretamente na profissionalização da Enfermagem e em um determinado perfil profissional. Desta forma, o ingresso da mulher no mundo da educação e do trabalho através da profissionalização da Enfermagem pelo curso de Enfermeiras, inaugurado em 1921 pela Escola Profissional de Enfermeiras Alfredo Pinto, ocorre de forma contraditória, pois ao mesmo tempo em que feminizou a profissão, através da reafirmação do papel social historicamente construído e socialmente aceito, permitiu um avanço no processo emancipatório feminino, ao passo que minimiza a dominação do espaço privado ao tornar-se assalariada e parte integrante da classe trabalhadora, tornando-se uma estratégia bem sucedida, por meio do discurso de gênero, produzido em prol da Enfermagem brasileira na reafirmação de papeis sociais do feminino com significação de poder

Having as object the social relations, through discussions regarding genres related to the opening of the female section of the Professional School of Male and Female Nurses (EPEE[port.]), the reaffirmation of the social roles power, this study has as objectives: describing the circumstances undertaken by the subject in the female section of the Professional School for Male and Female Nurses (Professional School of Female Nurses Alfredo Pinto), Exclusive for women, analyzing the genre relation through the sources related to the Professional School of Female Nurses Alfredo Pinto in the educational systematic of nursing, and discussing the genre relation as an strategy for the installation of an assistance professional pattern to support the development of Brazilian nursing. The time limitation of the study is between 1920 and 1921, taking in consideration the time that occurred the process of graduation of the first class of the female section from EPPE [port.], at the time named Professional School of Female Nurses Alfredo Pinto (EPEAP [port.]), currently School Of Nursing Alfredo Pinto (EEAP - UNIRIO [port.]). This historic fact took place in Rio de Janeiro, capital of the country (at the time) more accurately in the Colônia de Alienadas do Engenho de Dentro. For this research were used the most varied historic sources such as: Periodic ministerial reports, books of records from the related institutions, teaching supplies from the Professional School of Female Nurses Alfredo Pinto (EPEAP [port.], documents from the students and nurses registered in the course of 1921 and annals from the Colônia de Alienadas do Engenho de Dentro. The analysis of these materials was made with the shed light of the postulates from Joan Scott showing the issues related to genre Social Relations of Genre. The unfolding of the School of Male and Female Nurses that opened in 1890, in two sections, being one of those exclusively female, determined an educational strategy that contributed directly to the professionalization of nursing and a certain professional profile. This way, the insertion of women in the world of education and professionalization of nursing by the nursing course that began in 1921, in the School of Professional Female Nurses Alfredo Pinto, happens in a contradictory way, because at the same time it feminized the profession, through the reaffirmation of the historically built and socially accepted, at the same time it allowed an advance in the emancipatory process of women, in a way that it minimizes the domination of private spaces, by becoming waged and part of the working class, being a well successful strategy, by the reasoning of genre, produced to entice the professionalization of Brazilian Nursing in the reaffirmation of female social roles with a meaning of power
