Title in Portuguese
Síntese de novos derivados triazólicos do eugenol de interesse medicinal
Keywords in Portuguese
Eugenol
Leishmaniose
Triazol

Abstract in English
Currently, one of the most important neglected tropical diseases is Leishmaniasis. This parasitosis occurs in about many countries, with around thousands of people infected. However, the treatment of existing Leishmaniasis has some flaws, such as toxicity, treatment period and prolonged parenteral routes of administration, in addition to the development of resistance of the strains of the parasite. It is known in the literature that eugenol and its derivatives have potential as candidates for leishmanicidal drugs. Thus, this work aims to synthesize a new pattern of eugenol derivatives containing a 1,2,3-triazole ring in order to evaluate its pharmacological activity. Therefore, 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions involving an azide derived from eugenol and functionalized propargyls were used. Thus, the project contributed with good candidates for leishmanicidal drugs analyzed using in vitro assays.
