BODIPYs são compostos fluorescentes que possuem uma gama de aplicações tecnológicas em diversas áreas do conhecimento, recebendo considerável destaque na literatura, tanto do ponto de vista fotoquímico, quanto sintético. Nos últimos anos o grupo de pesquisa QHETEM (Química Heterocíclica e Medicinal) tem dedicado esforços no estudo da reatividade desses fluoróforos, bem como no desenvolvimento de novos compostos. Diante do exposto, nesse trabalho de doutorado estão abordados novos métodos de funcionalização desses compostos, quanto suas possíveis aplicações como marcadores fluorescentes. Para tal, o trabalho foi iniciado complementando estudos iniciados no mestrado, como analisar o potencial dos nitroso-BODIPYs como sensores do grupo tiol, a síntese de novos compostos azo-BODIPYs e a aplicação como indicadores de pH. Também foram explorados novos métodos de funcionalização baseados em reações de ativação da ligação C-H e arilação fotocatalítica utilizando arilazosulfonas em sistema de fluxo Solar.

BODIPYs are fluorescent compounds that have a wide range of technological applications in different areas of knowledge, receiving considerable attention in the literature, both from a photochemical and synthetic point of view. In recent years, the research group QHETEM (Heterocyclic and Medicinal Chemistry) has dedicated efforts to the study of the reactivity of these fluorophores, as well as the development of new compounds. Given the above, this work adressed new methods for functionalization of BODIPYs as well as their application as fluorescent markers. This work started from my previous master's dissertation, analyzing the potential of nitroso-BODIPYs as sensors of the thiol group, the synthesis of new azo-BODIPYs compounds and their application as pH indicators. From that, new functionalization methods based on C-H bond activation reactions and photocatalytic arylation using arylazosulfones in a sunflow reactor were explored.
