Abstract in Portuguese
Abstract in English
The development of the Individual Therapeutic Project with users with work-related psychological distress: the perspective of health professionals from Psychosocial Care Centers type III for adults. In this research, I attempted to comprehend and analyze the development of the Individual Therapeutic Project (PTS) with users with work-related psychological distress, by investigating the speeches of health professionals from Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS) type III for adults. For that purpose, I used a qualitative approach, as it allows a reorganization of the elements of the development of PTS, based on the speeches of health professionals. I interviewed nine workers from different backgrounds, with different degrees (vocational training or higher education): two nursing assistants, a nurse, three psychologists, two psychiatrists and a social worker. They were selected because they were working or they had worked at CAPS in the city of Mauá between 2014 and 2018, when I was a psychologist in that center, and also because they were available and willing to participate in the research. The analysis of their speeches revealed that the PTS is not always developed according to what the user wants, as the project is conceived in the relationship between the health professionals and the user - this is a method that shapes the development of the PTS. In addition, it was observed that the PTS is a continuous project, adapted according to the changes the users do in their lives during psychological care. Finally, an analysis of the workers' speeches indicated that they consider that there is a particularity to work-related psychological distress. It also indicates that, when these health professionals referred to work in this particular type of psychological distress, most of the time, they meant the activity in which people sell their time of life in exchange for an amount of money. They took into consideration the polysemic nature of this word (ALBORNOZ, 1994) and the different ways of experiencing work (SATO, 2018). They also took into consideration the users work activities in the development of the PTS when the complaint was evident. In addition to psychiatric symptoms, they also pondered on other concerns, such as the users families and their communities. It was revealed that the development of the PTS not only incorporates the framework of the mental health and CAPS policies, but also the concepts that the health professionals have about PTS and their own work. The interviewees' statements suggested that the activities offered by the CAPS usually meet the needs of most users with severe or persistent cases (as defined by a specific legislation). The cases of users with work-related psychological distress are considered less frequent. Therefore, the workers feel the need to seek knowledge from other fields to provide proper care.
