Abstract in English
The movements for the humanization of labor and birth, for over 40 years, have been discussing and fighting for changes in the care practices of professionals in normal delivery care. However, Brazil is still marked by a series of harmful interventions in the assistance to women, causing harm to health and violation of their right. This work is qualitative research that carried out in-depth interviews about care practices of obstetricians and traditional midwives and analyzed how they have constructed and designed their practices as a political act of social and health transformation. The analysis was constructed from the theoretical framework of gender studies and decolonial knowledge perspectives, resulting in the thematic axes: resistance, affectivity, and subversion.
