Introdução - A propaganda de medicamentos pode ser considerada um dos fatores que levam ao uso irracional de medicamentos e tem um papel importante na decisão de escolha do medicamento a ser prescrito pelo médico. O anúncio de propaganda é considerado uma das principais fontes de informações a esses profissionais. Dentre os medicamentos mais utilizados no Brasil atualmente, os que atuam no sistema cardiovascular apresentam grande destaque. Objetivo - O objetivo deste estudo é analisar peças publicitárias de medicamento cardiovasculares, que são anúncios dirigidos somente a prescritores. Métodos - Análise de conteúdo dos anúncios de medicamentos quanto ao cumprimento da legislação vigente e quanto às informações técnico-científicas transmitidas por meio deles. Resultados - Foram coletados 53 anúncios em hospital e em consultório médico e verificou-se que a maioria se encontra em desacordo em pelo menos um dos critérios exigidos por meio RDC nº 102/2000. Observou-se também que o conteúdo técnico-científico de itens relacionados à Resolução se encontra incompleto, dentre esses estão: contra-indicações, interações medicamentosas e cuidados e advertências. Conclusão - O conteúdo incompleto, do ponto de vista da legislação e das orientações técnico-científico, dos anúncios de medicamentos cardiovasculares analisados pode contribuir com uma prescrição irracional.

lntroduction - Drug advertisements can be considered one of the factors that induce the irrational drug use and has an important influence in decision of choice of the drug to be prescribed by doctors. The drug advertisement is considered one of the main information sources to these professionals. Drugs that act in the cardiovascular system are amongst the most used in Brazil currently. Objective - The objective of this study is to analyze cardiovascular drugs advertisiments, which are provided to doctors. Methods - Analysis of the content of drug advertisements to verify the compliance with current Brazilian law and with technical and scientific information of medical literature. Results - 53 advertisements had been collected in a hospital and medical doctor's office. lt was verified that the majority is in disagreement in, at least, one of RDC nº 102/2000 criteria. lt was also observed that the technical and scientific content of itens related to the resolution were incomplete in many of them, especially that related to contraindications, drug interactions and well-taken care and warnings. Conclusion - The incomplete content, in the point of view of the Brazilian regulation compliance and the technical and scientific information, of the analyzed cardiovascular drug advertisements can take to an irrational drug prescription by doctors.
