Essa dissertação de mestrado tem como objetivo apreender a percepção dos alunos de uma escola pública de Ilhabela, no litoral paulista sobre ambiente, saúde e turismo. Para melhor discorrer sobre essa percepção foram levantadas informações sobre o processo de desenvolvimento do Litoral Norte do Estado de São Paulo, assim como as atuais políticas de gerenciamento costeiro que regulam esse litoral. Também foi elaborada uma descrição municipal e regional e elencados alguns efeitos do turismo sobre essa realidade. Essa situação, por sua vez, é cotejada com o perfil dos alunos e suas reflexões sobre o tema estudado. Como resultado dessa análise propõe-se um projeto de intervenção local junto à escola participante.

Master thesis in which interconnections of tourism with environment and public health are analyzed in the city of Ilhabela. It is observed that popular participation is fundamental for any transformation wanted, therefore 135 students from the city public school system were interviewed in relation to environment, health and tourism issues. The development process ofthe North Coast of São Paulo State is evaluated as well as its current coastal management policies. Both a city and regional pro files about the impact of tourism in the city are developed and at the end of the research said pro files, based on secondary data, are analised in conjunction with the students' interview. Based on the result of Said research, a project to act locally together with the participating school is proposed.
