Abstract in English
With tecnological and scientific advance in the treatment of the chronic renal patients, the increase of the survival of these patients in dialitic treatment is a reality. So we must pay attention to provide a dialysis method that offers a better quality of life to these renal patients too. Purpose: Because of this a study was realized with the aim to examine the impact of the Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) in the Quality of Life of Chronic Renal Patients submitted to that treatment. Method: Through a quantitative study of investigative kind and using the methodology of the Colective Subject Speech (DSC) all renal patients were selected in CAPD program in a dialysis clinic of Feira de Santana. Twenty-three renal patients were studied and after a semi-structured interview, recorded and literally transcribed, the main ideas were selected with their corresponded key-expressions and from these key-expressions the DSCs were conceived. These speeches, which are the subjects speech, allowed to understand the meanings attributed to the tested experiences by these renal patients, CAPD users. Final Remarks: From the analysis of the Speeches we may consider that the quality of life of these renal patients improved after the use of the CAPD by the following results: the patients showed a better humor and freedom to perform the daily duties, once it allows them to be at home, enjoying the family's company that takes care of them and gives supports; they had the chance to come back to work, study, travel, take a walk and a normal social life; better relationship with friends because they're near them longer; for allowing a diet without limits and finally in relation to their sexuality, some say there was no difference and those who say that there was reduction in the sexual activity don't impute it to the CAPD.
