Abstract in English
Introduction. Considering that the indigenous populations along the years for the several contact situations with the national society lost a lot of time the possibility of preservation in their way to live. The subject of health finds differentiated forms of transition so much in it perception, with relationship to total misses of access the relative essential subjects to the ownership of the territories, feeding, sanitation, home, leisure etc. As we neglect basic aspects of survival and ethnic-cultural preservation, it happens a social disaggregation followed by deteriorização of all indicators of health, among them understood the oral health. Objective. To accomplish diagnosis in the community's indigenous Guarani Mbyá da Aldeia Morro da Saudade oral health, Parelheiros-municipal district of São Paulo, through an epidemic survey in oral health. Methods. The indexes were used according to the codes and criteria recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), in the fourth edition of the manual "Oral health surveys - basic methods" (1997). The study was accomplished without pre-established, being select all the examined acts (n=239). Results. Of the examined population 49.9% doesn't brush the teeth. With relationship that the dental decay, it was verified to the children's free from caries 5 years were 44.4%, to the 12 years a DMFT 2.19, developing to 7.20 to the 18 years; being the decayed component the largest weight of the index dmft and DMFT. With relationship to the periodontal diseases to the 5 years 33.3% already present some type of alteration periodontal, to the 12 years only 28.6% of individuais with healthy sextants, however in the age groups above 19 years presence of pockets is not verified above 6 mm. The dental fluorosis presents 100% practically of normal in all the researched ages the researched ages. for occlusion, the DAI index to the 12 years presented 85.7% with normal occlusion. It relation to dental prosthesis, none of those examined uses prosthesis; in relation to the prosthesis need in the age group from 3 5 to 44 years, 80% need superior prosthesis and 100% need inferior prosthesis. Conclusions. Being considered the examined individuals it can be observed that the epidemic profile of the oral diseases has a differentiated behavior of the national society, although access doesn't exist to preventive program and assistencials; the decay, the periodontal disease, fluorosis and occlusion wave a smaller severity when compared to studies accomplished in the municipal district of São Paulo and State of São Paulo. However the accumulated treatment needs demonstrate that will be necessary the implantation of proposals of attention to the oral health for these indexes do not continue developing in a drastic way.
