O processo de envelhecimento traz consigo modificações biopsicosociais, que muitas vezes comprometem a independência e autonomia do idoso. Estas condições associadas à redução da capacidade assistiva familiar podem resultar no ingresso do idoso em Instituições de Longa Permanência (ILPI). Estas, por sua vez, vivenciam dificuldades como: número reduzido de profissionais para cuidar, déficit na formação específica da equipe de cuidados, moradores com graus de dependência acentuados, carência de sistematização de avaliação e cuidado destes idosos. Mediante estas constatações, este estudo teve como objetivo aplicar e analisar uma Metodologia de Integração e Consenso entre membros da Equipe de Cuidados de uma ILPI, mediante definição do grau de Dependência e Autonomia dos idosos residentes, utilizando a Escala de Autonomia e Dependência (EDA) autoria de Deleros e Lanõe - França, 1980. A coleta de dados constou de 3 momentos: (a) levantamento de dados de prontuário dos idosos (n=57); (b) aplicação da Metodologia e aplicação da EDA (n=57); (c) realização de entrevista com membros da equipe (n=18). Os discursos dos entrevistados (item c) foram ordenados segundo a estratégia de Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin, emergindo as categorias: Sentir-se Preparado e Não se sentir preparado para cuidar de idosos. Os pareceres de todos os membros da equipe de cuidados sobre a metodologia aplicada revelaram Parecer Favorável. O parecer sobre a EDA, foi categorizado em: Dimensão Valorativa e Dimensão Desvalorativa. Na primeira, os entrevistados consideram que a metodologia aplicada pode ser eficaz e trazer benefícios para a equipe, para o gerenciamento do cuidado e para os próprios idosos. Na segunda, alguns itens da EDA despertaram dúvidas. Conclusão: a Metodologia de modo geral foi valorizada pela equipe, e foi efetiva na busca do consenso, mas é necessária sua aplicação em outras ILPI para ampliar a avaliação.

The process of aging brings along bio psychosocial changes, which many times jeopardize the elderly independence and autonomy. These conditions associated with the reduction of the family assistance capacity can result in the elderly admission in Long Term Care Institutions. These, on their tum, face difficulties as: reduce number of professionals, deficit in the specific formation of caregivers team, residents with high degree of dependence, lack of systematization of evaluation and care of the elderly. Through these findings, this study had as an objective applies and analyse a methodology of integration and consensus between members of the caregivers team of a Long Term Care Institution, through definition of the degree of dependance and autonomy of these elderly residentsw, using the Autonomy and Dependance Scale (ADS) by Delcros and Lanoe - France, 1980. The data colletion had three moments: (a) coletion of data from the oldies' notebook (n=57); (b) aplication of the methodology and aplication of the Autonomy and Dependance Scale (ADS) (n=57); (c) carrring out of the interview with members of the team (n=18). The interviewees' speeches (item c) were ordered according to the strategy of analysis of Bardin's Content, emerging the following cathegories: Feeling Prepared and Not Feeling Prepared to take care of the elderly. The consideration of all the members of the care team about the ADS was categorized as: Favorable and Unfavorable. In the first one, the interviewees took into consideration that the apllied methodology can be effective and bring benefits to the team, to the care management and to the own elderly. In the second, some items of the ADS arouse doubts. Conclusion: The methodology, on the whole, was valued by the team, and was effective in the search for the consensus, but its use in other long term care institution will be necessary in order to broaden the evaluation.
