Objetivo. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar as influências de fatores nutricionais, obstétricos, sócio-econômicos e demográficos nas concentrações de vitamina A, ferro, zinco e cobre no sangue e no leite maduro de doadoras de Banco de leite humano. Métodos. Foram avaliadas 161 lactantes do Banco de Leite Humano de Marília, SP. As concentrações de ferro, zinco e cobre, foram quantificadas através de espectrofotometria de emissão atômica e as concentrações de vitamina A através de cromatografia líquida de aha eficiência. Resultados. A vitamina A no leite teve associação negativa com idade gestacional, tempo de amamentação e trabalho materno; vitamina A no sangue teve associação positiva com idade materna e ingestão de suplemento durante a gestação, e negativa com ingestão de cobre. O ferro no sangue teve associação positiva com número de filhos, grau formal de instrução materna, parto cesáreo, proporção corporal de gordura e idade materna, e negativa com trabalho materno, ingestão de suplemento durante a gestação e ingestão de zinco. O zinco no leite teve associação positiva com ingestão de vitamina A, e negativa com número de filhos e tempo de amamentação; zinco no sangue teve associação negativa com hábito de fumar. O cobre no leite teve associação negativa com tempo de amamentação, e cobre no sangue teve associação positiva com consumo de álcool. Conclusões. Fatores nutricionais, obstétricos, sócio-econômicos e demográficos tiveram associações significativas com nos níveis sanguíneos de vitamina A, ferro, zinco e cobre, assim como nas concentrações desses micronutrientes no leite maduro de doadoras do Banco de leite humano de Marília, SP.

Objective. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the influence of nutritional, obstetric, socio-economic and demographic factors in vitamin A, iron, zinc and copper concentrations in blood and mature milk of donors of a Human Mille Bank. Methods. One hundred and sixty one (161) breast milk donors of the Human Milk Bank of Marília, São Paulo, were included in this study. The concentrations of iron, zinc and copper were determined by atomic emission spectrometry, and vitamin A concentrations were assessed by high performance liquid chromatography. Results. Vitamin A in milk was negatively associated with gestational age, breastfeeding time and maternal work; blood vitamin A was positively associated with maternal age and supplement intake during gestation, and negatively associated with copper intake. Blood iron was positively associated with number of previous children, mother's school level, caesarian delivery, maternal body fat and maternal age, and negatively associated with maternal work, supplement intake during gestation and zinc intake. Zinc in milk was positively associated with vitamin A intake, and negatively associated with number of previous children and breastfeeding time; blood zinc was negatively associated with smoking habit. Copper in milk was negatively associated with breastfeeding duration and blood copper was positively associated with alcohol intake. Conclusions. Nutritional, obstetric, socio-economic and demographic factors had significant association with blood levels of vitamin A, iron, zinc and copper, and with micronutrient composition of mature breast milk of donors of the Human Milk Bank of Marília, SP.
