Abstract in English
Many researches confirm the effectiveness of mindfulness training in improving different aspects of life, from those related to psychopathological symptoms, to those related to the increase of creativity and also stress and anxiety reduction. However, few studies have investigated the conversational process in group sessions of these trainings. Therefore, the objective of this research is to analyze the group process of training in mindfulness, helping science to fill this gap. Eighteen graduate students participated in an eight-week mindfulness program, which followed the methodology of Mindfulness Based Health Promotion (MBHP), with minor modifications. The sessions were audio recorded and the audios were transcribed in its totality. All the material produced was analyzed using the thematic content analysis methodology and was discussed with the support of the literature on mindfulness studies and group practices. From this analysis, five themes were recognized as key themes in the exchanges between the participants for the construction of new realities, namely: expectations, agreements, feedbacks (post-practice, post-group and final), acceptance and descriptions of themselves. The present investigation highlights the importance of group interactions through conversational processes for the construction of new personal meanings of reality.
