As relações afetivo-sexuais entre pessoas do mesmo sexo sempre existiram na história da humanidade. Entretanto, os entendimentos sobre essas relações sofreram alterações a partir de contextos e momentos históricos específicos. Essas transformações ocasionaram repercussões na noção de família ao ponto que, hoje em dia, diversas são as possibilidades de definição do termo. Dentre as múltiplas possibilidades do ser família, destaca-se a família homoparental, formada pelo casal homossexual e seus filhos, estrutura familiar que desafia a concepção heteronormativa presente no senso comum sobre o que é ser família. Os estudos acadêmicos, em geral, se dedicam a comparações entre as estruturas familiares ditas tradicionais e aquelas que destoam do padrão socialmente estabelecido, evidenciando uma carência de trabalhos empíricos que agreguem a perspectiva dos filhos inseridos nesses contextos. O objetivo do presente estudo foi compreender o processo de formação e organização de famílias homoparentais constituídas por casais masculinos com filhos, na perspectiva de pais e filhos. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo-exploratório, amparado na abordagem qualitativa de pesquisa, no qual se utilizou o estudo de caso como estratégia metodológica. Os participantes deste estudo foram os membros de quatro famílias homoparentais masculinas, duas tendo a paternidade efetivada por relações heterossexuais anteriores de um dos cônjuges e duas tendo efetivado a paternidade por meio da adoção conjunta. Os instrumentos utilizados foram o Formulário de Dados Sociodemográficos, Roteiro de Entrevista Semiestruturada realizada com o casal homoparental em conjunto, Roteiro de Entrevista Semiestruturada realizada com cada membro do casal individualmente, Roteiro de Entrevista Semiestruturada realizada com os filhos maiores de idade, o Genograma realizado com os pais e o Desenho da Família realizado tanto com os pais quanto com os filhos. A análise dos dados pautou-se na Teoria Queer e na literatura disponível sobre a parentalidade homoafetiva. A partir da análise do material coletado, pôde-se elaborar, no permanente diálogo com a literatura, cinco categorias temáticas: "Demandas do Armário", "Conjugalidade Homossexual", "Construção da Família", "Ser Pai" e "O que é a família?". Os resultados evidenciaram a forma pela qual a heteronorma atravessou as construções das singularidades dos sujeitos, apresentando repercussões em suas formas de aceitação e de assunção da própria sexualidade. Ademais, a construção das famílias atuais mostrou ser sempre referida às relações que os participantes estabeleceram com suas famílias de origem. A família homoparental parece ser constituída a partir dos mesmos valores idealmente formadores das famílias heteroparentais e é significada por todos os seus membros como espaço de segurança emocional, soma e aceitação das diferenças e para além dos vínculos de consanguinidade. Os dados sugerem que as famílias homoparentais se mostram distintas de outros modelos familiares sobretudo nas formas de construção e organização, não sendo possível, contudo, atribuir outras diferenças à sexualidade dos pais. Novos questionamentos emergem como possibilidades para estudos futuros.

Affective-sexual relations between persons of the same sex have always existed in human history. However, the understandings of these relationships have changed in specific contexts and historical moments. These changes entailed repercussions for the notion of family to the extent that, today, many are the possibilities to define the term. Among the multiple possibilities of the family, there is the homoparental family, constituted by the homosexual couple and their children, family structure that challenges the heteronormative conception present in the common sense of what is to be family. Academic studies generally focus on comparisons between the so-called traditional family structures and those that diverge from the socially established standard, showing a lack of empirical studies that add the perspective of children inserted in those contexts. The aim of this study was to understand the formation and organization process of gay families constituted by male couples with children, from the perspective of parents and children. This is a descriptive and exploratory qualitative study, using the case study as a methodological strategy. In two, the paternity derived from one of the spouses' previous heterosexual relationships and, in the other two, from joint adoption. The tools were a Socio-Demographic Data Form, a Semistructured Interview held with the homoparental couple together, a Semistructured Interview held with each spouse individually, a Semistructured Interview held with children over age, Genogram carried out with the parents and the Family Drawing done with both the parents and the children. The Queer Theory and the available literature on homosexual parenting guided the data analysis. Based on the analysis of the collected material, it was possible to elaborate, in ongoing dialogue with the literature, five thematic categories: "Closet Demands", "Homosexual Conjugality", "Building the Family", "Being a Father" and "What is the family?". The results showed how the heteronorm crossed the constructions of the subjects' singularities, with repercussions for their forms of acceptance and of assuming their own sexuality. Moreover, the construction of the families has always been confronted with the relationship the participants established with their families of origin. The homoparental family seems to be constituted based on the same values that ideally constitute heteroparental families and all family members signify it as a place of emotional security, the sum and acceptance of differences and beyond blood bonds links. The data suggest that the homoparental families are distinct from other family models, mainly in the forms of construction and organization. On the other hand, other differences cannot be attributed to the parents' sexuality. New questions emerge as possibilities for future studies.
