Abstract in English
This research work aimed to investigate the impact of school experience on rooting and life projects of young people who, as a child, went to EMEIF "Leonor Mendes Barros" school located at an agrarian reform settlement in the city of Restinga, SP. The methodology employed in this research is qualitative with semi-structured interviews with five young people between the ages of 15 and 28 years old, as well as a documentary analysis. The interviews went through the content analysis process. The results indicate the effort of the settlers to ensure the implementation of a school in the settlement, its progressive improvement in terms of amelioration and equipments, as well as the difficulties to implement a Peasant Education project in it, which is an essential condition for the rooting processes of settlers, as pointed out by Caldart (2012). It is also important to highlight the need to train teachers and school staff. In regard to aspects related to youth life projects, the reports refer to challenges related to the continuity of studies, entry into the world of work permeated by aspects involving gender, race and the condition of rural settling.
