Abstract in English
The chemistry of heterocyclic compounds is one of the most important divisions of organic chemistry. Their great relevance is due to the fundamental role that these compounds have in the development of society, being present in the structures of vitamins, pigments, hormones, herbal medicines and synthetic drugs. Among the heterocycles of synthetic interest, indolizines draw attention for their pharmaceutical potential, presenting several biological activities. Moreover, some indolizines have fluorescence in the UV-visible region, being applied as biosensors, probes, organic light-emitting diodes (OLED), markers and carriers of biologically active substances. In previous studies of our research group on the functionalization of indolizines, the results of these studies culminated in a methodology for functionalization of position 5 of the indolizine ring and these compounds showed intense fluorescence. Thus, the objective of the present work was to explore the application of this methodology aiming at the preparation of new indolizines of synthetic interest for the study of these fluorescent properties by extending the π conjugation. Through the use of 5-formylated derivatives, new products of aldolic condensation reactions were synthesized for the preparation of 5 chalcones, reactions with amines for the synthesis of 10 imines and Wittig reaction for obtaining 3 olefins, with satisfactory yields ranging from 47 to 98%. These derivatives were subjected to the study of their fluorescent properties in collaboration with Prof. PhD Zeki Naal from FCFRP, showing that the products have potential photophysical application as "on-off" sensors or can be used as fluorescent materials and optoelectronic devices.
