A memória temporal é central no processamento de codificação e consolidação das durações dos estímulos e eventos, porém poucos estudos verificaram possíveis distorções da memória temporal para eventos emocionais. Este estudo busca o entendimento do processamento da percepção subjetiva do tempo empregando estímulos musicais, devido à estrutura temporal se apresentar em uma harmonia e duração que podem provocar ativação nos processos de atenção e memória e portanto facilitar o estudo de como se processa a estimação temporal. O objetivo deste estudo foi investigar como a percepção de estímulos musicais de diferentes valores hedônicos associados previamente a estímulos visuais, modifica as estimações subjetivas temporais da duração dos estímulos visuais, por reprodução, obtidas em sessão imediata e 24h após a exposição ao estímulo. Os resultados mostraram uma melhor consolidação da memória de imagens associadas previamente a estímulos desagradáveis musicais, no teste 24 horas.

The temporal memory is central in the processing of encoding and consolidation of stimuli and events durations, nonetheless few studies have verified possible distortions of temporal memory for emotional events. This study seeks the understanding of the processing of subjective perception of time using musical stimuli, since temporal structure is presented in harmonics and duration, which can induce the activation of processes of attention and memory, and therefore facilitate the study of the processing of temporal estimation. The goal of this very study was to investigate how the perception of musical stimuli of different hedonic values, previously associated with visual stimuli, alters the temporal subjective stimulations of duration of visual stimuli, through reproduction, obtained by an immediate session and 24 hours after exposure to the stimulus. The results showed a better memory consolidation of images previously associated with the unpleasant musical stimuli in the 24-hour test.
