Este projeto tem como objetivo apresentar os números primos, analisar sua história e os resultados obtidos por matemáticos ao longo do tempo, além de explorar curiosidades e aplicações em diferentes contextos. A partir de uma reflexão do contexto atual, juntamente com alguns dados obtidos através de uma pesquisa qualitativa sobre o ensino de números primos no ensino escolar, busca-se ao longo desta dissertação, analisar as abordagens do tema através de pesquisas de literaturas disponíveis sobre o assunto, e posteriormente, investigar e sugerir uma metodologia de ensino para aplicação do assunto em questão, procurando dar ênfase em uma aprendizagem significativa com compreensão, a fim de colaborar para a prática docente. "O presente trabalho foi realizado com apoio da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - Brasil (CAPES) - Código de Financiamento 001.

This project aims to present prime numbers, analyze their history and the results obtained by mathematicians over time, as well as explore curiosities and applications in different contexts. Based on a reflection of the current context, along with some data obtained through a qualitative research, on the teaching of prime numbers in school education, it is searched throughout this dissertation, to analyze the approaches of the theme, through researches of available literatures on the subject, and afterwards, investigate and suggest a teaching methodology to apply the subject in question, seeking to emphasize a meaningful learning with understanding, in order to collaborate for the teaching practice. "This study was financed in part by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - Brasil (CAPES) - Finance Code 001".
