Let M^m and Nⁿ be differentiable manifolds and φ, ψ: M → N embeddings. φ and ψ are equivalent iff there is a diffeomorfism H : N → N such that ψ = H o φ. This is very strong relation. We study in this paper the weaker c-relation given by: φ and ψ c-related if there is a surgery on N transforming N into N', φ into φ' and ψ into ψ, φ', ψ' : M → N' such that φ and ψ are equivalent. Complete informations ane given in the case n = 1 and m = 2 or 3.
