Abstract in English
Introduction: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder. In it, children may have learning difficulties during development, or non-linear learning. As a result, there is often a need for adaptation in the form of teaching, which requires parents to closely monitor and learn about the school difficulties to be faced, especially in Brazilian inclusive education. Objective: The objective of this study was to know the perception of parents and caregivers of children and tennagers diagnosed with ASD, aged 3 to 5 years in group one and 6 to 14 years in group two, enrolled in regular schools (public and private) or in special school, regarding your child's schooling process, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic period. Methodology: A questionnaire was applied through the free online platform Survio with 23 questions for group one and 27 questions for group two. Results: A total of 45 people participated in this research, 21 from group one and 24 from group two. Most of the participants in this research were characterized by mothers, 94.44% from group one and 95% from group two. Most of those responsible followed the activities of their children every day before the pandemic, with group one 61.11% and group two 80%. And group one said they were satisfied with the preparation of teachers before the pandemic with 55.56%, while group two was not satisfied with 55%. During the pandemic, few children received adapted material in group one 66.67% did not receive it and group two 60%. During this period, family members shared their electronic devices for remote classes, with 55.56% in group one and 45% in group two.
