Abstract in English
In last few years, increasing attention has been paid to the immediate postoperative period of total hip arthroplasty surgeries with the intention of a faster and more effective recovery of the patient. The development of the ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) project has as main objective to propose a less invasive procedure in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative preparation, allowing an early recovery of the patient from the trauma caused by the surgery and consequently shortening the length of hospital stay and recovery time. In this study, we compared short, medium, and long-term preoperative and postoperative results using a Fast Track Protocol developed in a public institution in the State of São Paulo governed by the Unified Health System (SUS) for elective total hip arthroplasty surgeries
