Abstract in English
The present study sought to apprehend and understand the psychopathological structure of the mental disorder categorized as anorexia nervosa (AN). Person-centered, non-directive individual interviews were conducted, audio recorded and fully transcribed, with patients of both sexes diagnosed with AN admitted to the Alimentary Behavior Infirmary. Data analysis aimed to understand the units of meaning of the experiences and recognize the structure of AN consciousness. It was possible to discuss each of the conditions of possibility and differentiate from: borderline disproportion and obsessive disproportion. It was observed that studies on the experience of AN aim to understand it from the point of view of corporeality. The body is a symbol of this disorder, but not the essence of the suffering individual's experience. Opens the opportunity to dialogue about being a disorder that involves the search for the construction of an identity that sustains the existence in the interaction with the world
