A transexualidade pode ser considerada uma experiência identitária caracterizada pelo conflito com as normas de gênero. Estudos mostraram que a população trans enfrenta taxas significativamente altas de desemprego, discriminação no mundo do trabalho, situações de ausência de moradia e assédio em ambiente de trabalho. Essas experiências são revestidas de maior sofrimento e dificuldade quando são enfrentadas juntas à rejeição familiar, tornando necessário compreender as dinâmicas das relações familiares das pessoas trans e de seus familiares, no âmbito do cuidado em saúde. O objetivo desta pesquisa é compreender as construções de sentidos que emergem da dinâmica das relações familiares a partir das performances identitárias de pessoas transexuais em atendimento em um ambulatório direcionado exclusivamente para o cuidado em saúde integral de transexuais e travestis. Realizou-se uma etnografia com triangulação das fontes de dados (entrevistas semiestruturadas, grupo focal e observação participante) em um ambulatório especializado no cuidado trans-específico no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), entre dezembro/2017 a julho/2018. Conduziu-se 21 entrevistas, sendo 8 com homens trans, 8 com mulheres trans e 5 com familiares de pessoas trans atendidas nesse serviço; 1 grupo focal com 8 homens trans e aproximadamente 100h de observação participante. Apresentam-se os resultados e discussão a partir de 3 categorias temáticas denominadas (1) Concepções de Família; (2) Concepções de Identidade e (3) Concepções de Saúde. A análise levou em consideração como a diversidade de idade, a renda e a etnia, em cada contexto de vida trans, estabelecem diferenciais nos temas em estudo. Os significados de família, identidade e saúde estão interconectados, o que poderia justificar as relações já estabelecidas em outros estudos entre família e adoecimento das pessoas transexuais. O desafio para os serviços e profissionais de saúde está na legitimação desses significados como fundamentais para a clínica, a saúde e o bem-estar das pessoas das quais se almeja cuidar, para com isso alcançar um cuidado em saúde integral e equânime

Transsexuality can be considered an identity experience characterized by conflict with gender norms. Studies have shown that the trans population faces significantly higher rates of unemployment, discrimination in the workplace, homelessness and workplace harassment. These experiences are lived with greater suffering and difficulty when they are faced together with family rejection, making it necessary to understand the dynamics of family relationships of trans people and their families in the context of health care. The aim of this research is to understand the construction of meanings that emerge from the dynamics of family relationships from the identity performances of transsexual people that are being taken care of in a health service devoted exclusively to the comprehensive health care of transsexuals and transvestites. An ethnography was performed with the triangulation of the sources (semi-structured interviews, focus group and participant observation) in a health service specialized in trans-specific care in the Unified Health System (Sistema Único de Saúde - SUS), between December/2017 and July/2018. Twenty-one interviews were conducted, 8 with trans men, 8 with trans women and 5 with family members of trans people attended in this service; 1 focus group with 8 trans men and approximately 100h of participant observation. The results and discussion are presented in 3 thematic categories named (1) Conceptions of Family; (2) Conceptions of Identity and (3) Conceptions of Health. The analysis considered how the diversity of age, income and ethnicity, in each context of trans life, establish differences in the themes under study. The meanings of family, identity and health are interconnected, which could justify the relationships already established in other studies between family and illness of transsexual people. The challenge for health services and professionals is to legitimize these meanings as fundamental to the clinic, health and well-being of the people they aim to care for, in order to achieve comprehensive and equitable health care
