Abstract in English
This research has as an objective to reflect about the teaching job during the Brazilian military regimen, to know the Sao Paulo public elementary school teachers' classroom memories while in this period, as well as analysing part of the political educational, economic and social context then. We highlight in this analysis the question about the role of the school and its different agents in the contemporary capitalism, following its transformations and contradictions. The research has as one of its main pillars, the memory as a social phenomenon that unveils the complexity of the interpretation of the subjects in the creation of their practices. Hence, this research sought to understand the process of deterioration, the decay of the public school and the likely historic and political determinants. Moreover, aiming to understand and know the devaluation of the elementary school professional, their working conditions, experiences and struggles throughout period analyzed, five semi structured interviews and a bibliographic review were held.
