Esta pesquisa teve por objetivo identificar, em documentos oficiais de políticas educacionais, elaborados por secretarias municipais de educação do Estado do Espírito Santo, aspectos que indicam/reconhecem a participação das crianças na educação escolar na etapa do EF, anos iniciais. Os procedimentos metodológicos incluíram análise documental de leis, resoluções, regimentos e o instrumento questionário (formulário online) destinado aos dirigentes das Secretarias de Educação dos municípios do Estado do Espírito Santo. A análise dos dados foi realizada sobre os documentos obtidos no levantamento pela internet (páginas das prefeituras, das câmaras municipais, do governo federal e das respostas dos formulários). Os resultados indicaram que o reconhecimento do direito à participação das crianças na educação escolar encontra-se referenciado nos documentos oficiais de políticas educacionais nacionais e dos municípios capixabas, sob as dimensões expressar, consultar e escutar; grêmio estudantil; experienciar a autonomia intelectual, cultural e social; coautoria; práticas de cidadania e gestão escolar. A pesquisa contribui para visibilizar o direito à participação das crianças na educação escolar, reconhecida nos documentos oficiais de políticas educacionais, aventando a construção de uma educação pautada nos direitos da infância.

This research aimed at identifying, in official documents about educational policies, elaborated by municipal education offices from the state of Espírito Santo, aspects that point/acknowledge children's engagement with school teaching in the first years of the EF stage. The methodological procedures adopted included the analysis of documented laws, resolutions, statutes, and also the use of questionnaires as a tool (on-line form) directed at the managers of the Education Offices of the tows of Espírito Santo State. The data analysis was performed taking into account the documents obtained through the Internet (towns' and town halls' websites, the federal government database, as well as the answers to the forms) The results showed that children's right to engage in their school education are referred to in official documents concerned with national teaching policies as well in official documents from Espírito Santo's cities, within the realms of expression, conferring and attending hearings; students union; experimenting with their intellectual, cultural and social autonomy, co- authorship, citizenship practices, and school management. Thiis research contributes to highlighting the children's right to participate in their learning, recognized by official documents on educational policies, ushering the idea of an education characterized by its respect to the rights of the children.
